Laurus Live took place at The Royal Northern College of Music on the 4th July 2023, providing Musicians across all Laurus secondary schools with an opportunity to showcase their talent to a live audience.
It was an amazing evening of outstanding musical performances where the audience were completely blown away by the incredible standard of our student musicians. 245 students from our five Secondary schools came together to perform as a combined Trust orchestra and choir, alongside a selection of soloists, ensembles and bands from individual schools.
Heather Brown, Trust Director of Music said:
“It was a very special occasion, as it was the first time we had performed all together and it included the first performance from our Trust Symphony Orchestra of our 80 students. It is exciting to be putting our vision into action; for children from all backgrounds to have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, to make music with others and to have the opportunity to excel in music. It was wonderful to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our musicians and to have the opportunity to inspire them, to enrich their lives and to enable them to develop a lifelong appreciation of music.”
We are already looking forward to the next one!
