The Laurus Trust is delighted to announce that our CEO, Linda Magrath, has been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the Queen’s New Year Honours list.
The OBE has been awarded for services to education in recognition of Linda’s contribution to the improved outcomes for young people in schools across Stockport, Cheshire East, Tameside and Manchester.
Linda was appointed Headteacher at Cheadle Hulme High School in 2004 and has overseen two ‘outstanding’ Ofsted inspections. The school was named Secondary School of the Year in 2018, and its results have put CHHS consistently in the top 3% of all schools in the country.
In 2016 Linda was appointed CEO of the newly created Laurus Trust and she has been instrumental in generating an additional 4,000 school places across Greater Manchester, as well as driving improvement in established schools.
The Trustees would like to congratulate Linda on her richly deserved award. She is an outstanding, visionary and highly trusted leader whose work and also warmth have without doubt impacted on the lives of thousands of individuals.
Linda Magrath said: “It is an honour and hugely humbling to receive this award in recognition of the incredible work and commitment of all Laurus leadership teams, teachers and support staff.”
