The Laurus Trust is proud to introduce the Apertura programme to support high-achieving students in further developing their academic potential.
The name Apertura is taken from the Latin for ‘opportunities about to open’ and the programme was launched at the trust’s flagship school, Cheadle Hulme High School, with an informative and insightful address by keynote speaker Patricia Pearlman-Dee, Senior Lecturer in Finance at Alliance Manchester Business School, part of the University of Manchester.
By joining Apertura, students across the Trust will have the opportunity to attend fascinating guest lectures, share in academic dialogue and debate, and further their research interests.
Students will be supported with their applications to competitive courses and universities such as Oxford and Cambridge and will be invited to take part in workshops to build confidence and resilience, helping them excel in a highly academic environment.
We look forward to welcoming a number of our students on to the Apertura programme, as we continue in our pursuit of ‘levelling the playing field’ for all the young people in our schools.
